My name is Angus Martin, and I am a bagpiper.
I began playing the Great Highland Bagpipes in 1999, when I had just turned 10. Since then, I have played with four pipe bands, traveled to Scotland, Canada, and various places in the United States, and have garnered a number of prizes as a soloist across the country.
Today, I live in Bloomington, Indiana, and play with the Fountain Trust Pipe Band in Covington, Indiana, am active in the local piping community, and am currently competing in the Midwest Pipe Band Association as a Grade 3 soloist.
On this blog, I plan on writing once a week columns about piping – be it my own piping, or the piping world in general. When I participate in a bagpiping event I will also write about those separately from my once-weekly columns.
